Each time it snows, they'll already have you on the list, so they'll show up asap and shovel your walks and drive by hand in the blink of an eye. Choice of using natural salt-free ice-melt. HOW IT WORKS
• EACH SNOWFALL: Casey + Nick have you on their list and come by to hand shovel snow from designated areas as follows:
• 24 HR GRACE PERIOD: Once it stops snowing, your property will be shoveled with 24hrs. There are many properties to get to in a limited timeframe with little room for rest or recuperation in between while performing extended physical labor in extreme weather conditions. This is the reason for a 24hr grace period. We appreciate your understanding.
• INCLUDED: You can have complete control of what you would like shoveled - just let your Snow Angels know. As a general example, “Designated Snow Removal Areas” are defined as:
Sidewalks
Driveways
Walkways
Stairs
Decks
Patios
Entrances
Clearing off trash cans
Clearing off cars
• NATURAL ICE MELT: For a small additional fee of $5-10, we will include natural ice melt as part of your service. We use a natural ice melt that is free of salt! This means it is non-irritating to pets’ paws and skin as well as more gentle on plants. With active ingredients such as magnesium chloride and potassium sulfate, this method is more gentle on foliage when a season’s-worth of granules accumulate on the edges of the lawn or neighboring bedding plants with regular snow removal.
• BOULDER ONLY: We are only able to operate efficiently within the Boulder area. There are just so many small details and nuances when it comes to snow shoveling multiple properties that this seems fairest to everyone.
RATES + SCHEDULE
Rates are pro-rated from $120 hourly, plus any chosen addition for $5 or 10 such as natural ice melt. An average snow shoveling session takes between 20-45 minutes, for example. However we cannot guarantee a timeframe for any property given the volume of unpredictable elements at play.
CHOICE OF MINIMUM-SNOW STARTING POINT:
Snow Angels will visit only when the minimum Snowfall Depth of your choice (below) is met. Please choose your starting point and let us know:
• STANDARD CHOICE 2—6” or more
• MID-LEVEL CHOICE 6—12” or more
• DEEP DRIFTS CHOICE 12”+ or more
SEASONAL ESTIMATES
Seasonal Snowfall varies from year to year due to changing weather conditions. Some years there is less, some more. We cannot therefore offer an accurate estimate for the season as a whole.
BASIC TERMS
• SEASON DATES Winter Snow Removal Season begins Nov/Dec 2020 thru Mar/Apr 2021 depending on when the first and last heavy snowfalls occur
• SEASONAL CONTRACT Sign ups are for a full-season only. At this time we do not offer individual or one-off services.
• OUT OF TOWN If you will be out of town for part of the winter season, please let us know and we will accommodate your schedule.
• SIGN UP Sign up any time over the Winter Season, as above, as long as our schedule allows.
• BILLING: Snow Angels will send a monthly invoice by email around the end of each month or beginning of the next.
NO GUARANTEE
ICE: We do not perform full ice-melting, hacking, or scraping from walkways. Ice will form and that is beyond our scope of service. We shovel snow and sprinkle ice melt as needed. We may engage in minor ice removal as part of our snow removal, but we do not provide a full ice removal service. Clients are welcome to use additional methods to suit their unique needs or those of the property.
CONCRETE: A common misconception is that the chemical composition of some ice melters can damage concrete. While this may hold true for cement less than 2 years old, damage is actually caused by the physical nature of ice settling into little cracks after it melts and then refreezing. The expansion of the refrozen water forces the concrete apart, creating pockmarks. So, it’s best to apply an ice melter, let it diminish the ice back into water or slush, and then shovel or squeegee as much of the excess moisture away as possible. If ice is thick, it may be beneficial for homeowners to use an ice scraper for breaking up thick layers, before topping off with a nice sprinkling of ice melt to prevent refreezing. Let’s face it: in Colorado, ice comes with the territory, and together we will do our best.
