HORTICULTURAL PERENNIAL GARDENS

• Engage aesthetic ideas and functional solutions for what’s possible in your yard

• Gain insight into planning, phases, schedule, strategies, comparisons, and estimates

• Familiarize yourself with recommended plant species, soil amendments, fertilizers and natural solutions

• Hear tips and considerations on zone hardiness, native species, pest resistance, and areas of low water, sun/shade, color/season, soil quality, and more

• Learn how to choose your best materials, weigh benefits and drawbacks, from hardscape such as decorative boulders, patios, tiered gardens, flagstone, cobble, planters, to softscape such as soil amendments, mulch, organic weed control and more

• Compare pros and cons of set-up and materials such as drip irrigation, edging, hand tools, and no weed barrier or just in certain areas

• Experience new and sustainable green industry practices and be introduced to key topics such as biodiversity, water management, ecological fertility, and how key elements work together in your yard and in the environment

• Receive a gift of a bulb, annual, or perennial flower.

• Choose your topical level — introductory, intermediate, or mastery. We may refer you to an additional specialist for intermediate or advanced recommendations, for example related to heirloom varieties, pest control, tinctures, or related edible or foraging mastery.

• Try out additional resources on your topics of interest, including you tube how-to videos, articles, local specialists, designers, classes, groups, topics, and more

• We offer 10-15 years of experience designing, installing, growing, and maintaining local gardens with the following DIY caveat:

• Engage aesthetic ideas for beauty and pleasure, and functional solutions for what’s necessary and possible in your garden

• Gain insight into garden layout, plant lists, companion planting, growing phases, seasonal schedule, strategies, and tips

• Familiarize yourself with recommended plant varieties and edible flower species, soil amendments, fertilizers and natural solutions

• Hear tips and considerations on zone hardiness, native species, pest resistance, low water, sun/shade, color/season, soil quality, and more

• Learn how to choose your best materials, weigh benefits and drawbacks, from soils and amendments, to wood for raised beds,

• Compare pros and cons of set-up and materials such as drip irrigation, edging, hand tools, and no weed barrier or just in certain areas

• Experience permaculture and regenerative practices and be introduced to key topics such as microclimate, topography, zone mapping, grey water, compost, sun, soil, pollinators, and how elements work together in your yard and in the environment

• Receive a gift of a vegetable, herb, or seeds.
